CHEMISTRY
MR YE FUDA

Qualifications: NTU Bachelor of Business
Experience: 4 years of teaching experience
Mr. Ye emphasizes on understanding rather than on memory. Thus he goes through concepts before introducing practices to students to assess their understanding. Mr. Ye also aids students in understanding better by getting students to learn via key words and terms, where these terms are broken down and made simpler to digest and analyse for efficient learning. In his lessons, Mr. Ye strives to keep the abstract ideas of Chemistry clear and simple for his students to understand mechanisms better. In the face of students with varying calibres in his classes, Mr. Ye encourages students to ask questions and reinforces their concepts and knowledge with practice questions of varying challenges.
MR ALEX WONG

“It’s a character-building process.”
Qualifications: NUS Chemical Engineering
Experience: 6 years of teaching experience
Mr. Alex believes in creating a comfortable atmosphere for students to learn in and thus he strives to portray himself as a mentor to his students. To Mr. Alex, every student is a unique individual and everyone is a team player. As such, participation and interaction in his classes are greatly emphasized on as it broadens the students’ horizons for learning. While it can be difficult to have everyone learning at the same pace, Mr. Alex has his strategies to simultaneously boost the confidence of the strong students and strengthen the understanding of the stronger. At the end of the day, Mr. Alex teaches because he enjoys the process and hopes that he would be able to offer students advice both within and beyond academia.
MDM BETTY LOW TECK POH

“Enjoy the journey.”
Qualifications: NUS Chemistry (Hons)
Experience: 17 years of teaching experience, former JC Chemistry teacher
Mdm Low understands that the Chemistry syllabus demands both the understanding and application of theories and concepts, where the latter is often a step that seems too high for students to reach. Hence, Mdm Low infuses problem-based learning in her lessons where students are taught to critically anaylse the questions posed to them so that they would be able to tackle them effectively. Application without content is no easy feat either, which is why Mdm Low also extends the learning curve of her students by going through the gist of individual topics, allowing students to have the best of both worlds.
MS LEE ENG YEE VIOLET

Qualifications: NTU Biological Chemistry
Experience: 6 years of teaching experience
Ms. Violet takes on a micro-macro approach in her classes where she focuses on individual students first before moving on to addressing her class as a whole. Additionally, Ms. Violet also starts off with topical understanding and subsequently carrying on with drawing links and bridging gaps across the different topics. With her patience and kind disposition, students can look forward to studying Chemistry in an enjoyable and relaxed environment.
