The lessons here are interesting and certainly very helpful. At the beginning I was unable to understand Economics as a whole, but after taking a year of lessons here, I believe that I have truly improved by leaps and bounds.

- Kenneth Bee Yong Jun (2012, AJC)

Mr Xavier clearly understands our problem with GP and knows what we need to overcome them. He consistently ensures that we are able to keep up the lesson and fully grasp the essence of lessons. I'm able to apply his techniques in my everyday homework and exams which saved me a significant amount of time and pain when doing essays and paper 2.

- Kevin Tan Cheng Chuan (2012, Private Student)

Mr Tong's lessons are fun and insightfuls. He's pretty witty, jovial and able to connect well wih his students. Other than that, adequate practice are also provided which prepares us well for the exminations. My classmates are really entertaining too.

- Tan Wei Lin (2012, HCI)

Mr Xavier's lessons fucus more on evaluation and deeper analysis of examples and phenomenons that occur in Singapore and of other topics.  I am weaker in evaluations hence I felt that I am able to learn something more useful in applying and creating deeper analysis on examples and phenomenons from the past 2 lessons I have attended so far.

- Seah Kwang Hui (2012, JJC)

I have benefitted a lot form the lessons as he presents us with new ideas every lesson. His personal feedback also helped me improved my essays.

Lessons are nice, able to address problems. Basically, find GP lessons useful (felt that it’s a better lesson as compared to those I attended before). Good! :) Lessons are fun, yayyyyyy~

- Lee Zhi Ying Nerissa (2012, AJC)

The pace of the lessons are just nice. The information is applicable to exam questions so far and give good scope and sufficient depth. This thus gave me an advantage over my peers since there were many current and relatable examples for a range of topics. There were many practices to prep us before school tests. These were helpful in refreshing the skills and content. I guess I've learnt a lot more useful knowledge here than in school. As a bonus, I thinnk Jaryl is very engaging, friendly and probably, a natural at teaching. Probably has some maternal/paternal instincts. Haha. The combined use of infographics and TED talks were good for quick infobites and insightful point/quotes.

Lessons at Economics at TuitionGenius are really interesting and useful for my Economics. It breathes new life into the dull and boring Economics. Furthermore, Economics at TuitionGenius has a unique way to deliver the Economics syllabus to the students by drilling us on exam skills instead of just content. My Economics grade has improved tremendously since I first joined Economics at TuitionGenius.

- Cai Xin Chen (2011, TJC)

Mr Toh is very handsome, he makes concepts easier to understand.

- Timothy Wang Hao Yu (2011, CJC)

Lessons are captivating and applicable to real life. Sparked my interest in economics. Questions discussed are of wide variety and largely similar to what comes out in exams. Yes, the free foolscap was definitely great.

- Lim Zeng Hou (2011, ACJC)

Lessons are beneficial with extra info and exams applicable for use in econs case study and essays. Practices given are sufficient, notes and reading materials are easy to understand and remember. Tutor is able to handle lesson effectively and efficiently.

- Matthew Neo (2011, TPJC)

I like the lessons as they allow for discussion and we can exchange knowledge with each other. The teacher also tells us stuff that we can use in exams yet outside books that help us understand. However, though we learnt much we must consolidate what we learnt if not will lose out and learn at times with caution as at times a bit different from what teacher teach but still can use. Questions efficiently addressed but at time, no time to ask.

- Winfred Tan (2011, MJC)

The lessons conducted were really unique, instead of bombarding us with economics concept, Mr Toh has brought in real life applications which can help us tremendously in our understanding of the subject. And not to mention, the occasional ‘treats’ from M Toh were a bonus!

- Gladys Chang (2011, MJC)

Materials that were given out during class were sufficient for me to get exposed to different types of questions and the different aspects of economics. We were also given different snippets of articles about the current situation of the world economy which I thought were effective to teach us how to apply our economics theories to real-life situations. All in all, the lessons have benefitted me tremendously.

- Tan Hui Min (2011, TJC)

Mr Jaryl is an energetic individual who fully dedicates himself to come up with invigorating and inspiring lessons which never fail to keep us entertained all the time. The skills taught are highly applicable to my other fields of study and I am motivated to put in more effort for GP after attending his lessons.

- Nur Dinah Amrad (2010, JJC)

Arguable, most students often start studying when there’s nothing else left to save. This tuition has been extremely helpful in keeping us on our toes every week, as it challenges students to deal with problems from any econs topic, and subsequently present solutions to the class.

- Tan Zhi Xiang (2010, RVHS)

The lessons are generally well-planned and structured, which makes revising easier as I can see the division between the major group of topics and study them together. I have also had much more exposure to various examination questions compared to my school tutorials, and also have more opportunities to practice essay writing skills where the tutor will gladly mark my essays and give comments on how I can improve. Through seeing more questions, I have become more familiar with examination-style questins and no longer get confused during exams.

- Shawn Tay Zi En (2010, RI)

- Leong Yi Tung (JC2, National Junior College)

Mr Toh’s lessons were fun and engaging and his lessons expose us to real life examples and case studies! Thanks to the practice during lessons, I was able to brush up on my case studies skills and improve. Mr Toh also teaches Economics beyong the theory, thus making a better learning experience that is enjoyable and enriching at the same time.

- Goh Jia Sheng Amos (JC2, River Valley High School)

Mr Toh is able to make us understand concepts and topics very easily. He is concise and straight to the point. Also, he makes lessons interesting and is a great person as well!

- Lee Zhi Ying Nerissa (JC2, Anderson Junior College)

Mr Toh’s lessons have been effective in helping me understand the content but have helped even more by drawing concepts to real life examples happening. Continuous emphasis on showing how good answers are different from excellent answers with supporting examples also helped me.

- Tan Jie Yong (JC2)

The notes are especially useful and the pace of lessons is actually very comfortable. I find myself applying both content and skills tips from the lessons in my school work and exams. I think the most important take away from lessons was linking Econs to real life examples which I felt that I did not learn in school.

- Gowri D/O Somasundaram (JC2, Anderson Junior College)

Mr Toh is a very nice tutor who has mastered the act of teaching effectively and has successfully bribed us with food all at the same time.

- Tan Xin Yi (JC2, Millennia Institute)

I really enjoyed Mr Toh’s lessons very much as they are really engaging. Mr Toh, as a tutor, has a very personal touch to his lessons and cares very much for us, as demonstrated through his encouraging words and corner filled with snacks and drinks. Thanks to Mr Toh, I have found it much easier to apply the content I learnt in exams and relate it to reality. Furthermor, Mr Toh has greatly assisted me in my case studies skills.

- Magdalene Ong (JC2, River Valley High School)

Mr Ridwan (REC Bedok, Mathematics)

He is indeed a patient tutor who is willing to fork out his own time to help his students with questions they don’t understand. He always guides us through solving the mathematical problems instead of just plainly spoon-feeding his students with the solutions.

- Bian Ruo Yi (JC1, Raffles Junior College)

Mr Ye Fu Da (REC Bedok, Chemistry)

His lessons were very engaging and we would share our answers with each other on the whiteboard. He made sure that we had fun while learning by using various methods of teaching like time trials and even games. Chemistry became more of a friend than a foe because he helped us to understand this complicated subject more. He is also very caring and took time off to talk about our lives and not just our studies.

- Angelyn Ong Hui Sze (JC2, Anglo-Chinese Junior College)

He always tries to make the lessons as interactive as possible and the theories easy to remember and understand. He is also very patient while teaching and answers any questions that we have and will always ensure that we understand every concept.

- Chan Yu Min (JC2, Yishun Junior College)

Mr Jaryl George (REC Clementi, GP)

He is passionate in teaching GP and his lessons are pretty interactive. His content-based lessons are diversified and holistic.

- Jim Tantri (JC2, Jurong Junior College)

Mr Jaryl is a compassionate teacher who never fails to uphold his student’s confidence. He never underestimates a student’s capabilities no matter how weak that student is. He is open to receiving feedbacks on his pedagogy and is motivated to make himself an effective educator. He never fails to keep the class fun, and often keeps us engaged. That’s what makes his class so difficult to fall asleep in. I am confident that he will go far as he continues pursuing his teaching career and his dedication will empower him to change the lives and hopes of many.

- Muhammad Hazim (JC2, Innova Junior College)

Mr Sean Lim (REC Clementi, Economics)

Mr Sean Lim teaches at a very good pace, helps every student when they need help, provides many useful resources and good tips.

- Justinian Tang (JC2, Hwa Chong Institution)

Mr Xavier Tong (REC Clementi, GP)

Mr Xavier Tong gives very interesting lessons. He brings in multiple topics and provides lots of relevant examples.

- Justinian Tang (JC2, Hwa Chong Institution)

The lessons were very useful as I have gained a whole lot of knowledge from the tutor and the examples he gave to explain sophisticated concepts were extremely useful for me as well. However, I feel that perhaps I need even more practice for GP, thus more practice sessions could be given. The tutor was also very engaging.

- Abirami Badmanathan (JC2, Serangoon Junior College)

The lessons were interesting and thought-provoking. I have learnt many useful tips and methods to conquer the general paper. I was taught how to link the world and many imaginative ways to look at a concept in both micro and macro view. I had better knowledge on world matters compared to other peers in school and this was an advantage for me. My tutor is effective in teaching and he helps to mark my essays with detailed criticism and remarks.

- Aisha Parveen (JC2, Serangoon Junior College)

Lessons were generally effective in terms of broadening my perspectives in certain topics taught. The evaluation skills taught were quite useful when writing essays. I find that the skills on how to tackle Paper 1 were also useful and were clearly taught. I also got to practice on essay questions that are less usual and harder to deal with. It would be even better if you can spend more time going through questions that are more common in even greater detail.

- Wei Rui Han (JC2, Serangoon Junior College)

Mr Xavier Tong’s GP lessons are well thought and effective. He provides a balanced mix of practice, content and skills development. The content he provides are detailed with examples and relevant for not just essays bubt for application questions as information about Singapore is weaved in. Mr Tong then provides papers relating to the content just taught to further solidify the understanding of the topic, and show how it can be applicable in exams.
